Privacy notice
Who we are
This website belongs to City of David Kent, a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. The charity responsible for your information is Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) City of David, a charitable incorporated organisation (number 1206714). You can reach us about anything in this notice at info@rccgcod.org.uk.
What this website collects
Very little. This website:
- sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers;
- has no forms of its own and no accounts or logins;
- does not embed videos, maps or social media feeds, so those services learn nothing from a visit here.
Like every website, it runs on a server that briefly records technical details of each request, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver pages and keep the site secure. Our host, Vercel, does this on our behalf and keeps the records only for a short time. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
Photographs and names on this website
The website shows photographs of members at church services and events, and names our pastors and the leaders of our ministries, with their agreement. Photographs of children appear only with a parent’s consent.
If you would like a photograph of you or your child taken down, email info@rccgcod.org.uk and we will remove it.
When you contact us
If you email us, we use your email address and what you tell us to reply and to help you, because you asked us to. We keep the conversation only as long as we need it for that.
The Get Connected form
The Get Connected form asks for your name, contact details and the groups that interest you. We collect the answers through Google Forms: we control them, and Google stores them for us. We use them only to put you in touch with those groups, and we never share them outside the church.
Because your answers show an interest in our church, they can reveal your religious beliefs, which the law treats as special category data. We use them only with your explicit consent, which you give by sending the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing info@rccgcod.org.uk, and we will delete your answers.
Gift Aid
If you make a Gift Aid declaration, we keep your name, home address and the gifts it covers, because HMRC needs them to accept our claim; keeping them is a legal obligation. We keep them for as long as HMRC requires charities to keep Gift Aid records, and share them only with HMRC.
Other services we link to
Our sermons and livestreams are on YouTube, directions are on Google Maps, and we have pages on social media. When you follow a link to one of these, that service’s own privacy policy applies to what you do there.
Outside the UK
Vercel and Google are based in the United States, so information they handle for us may be processed there. They do this under safeguards that UK data protection law approves.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it. Email info@rccgcod.org.uk and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
